It Will Be Okay is a story for any child or adult who confronts the difficulty of loss. Wendy writes to offer hope and reassurance during scary and troubled times. No matter how bad it may seem, there is comfort in knowing that it will be okay.
Wendy has always had a love for children’s literature. The inspiration for the book, It Will Be Okay, started with her own personal journey. In 2001, she lost her husband to cancer. His death left their children without a father. Life continued to offer challenges, pushing Wendy and her children to rely on each other and God.
Doug has always loved to draw ever since he was a little boy, and he enjoys bringing his pictures to life. In elementary school he began writing and illustrating small books for his family, friends, and classmates. No matter what the topic, he always came up with creative characters that fit the stories just right. In high school, Doug continued to use his artistic abilities as the newspaper cartoonist. He has always dreamed of illustrating a children’s book, and when Wendy approached him about illustrating her book, he was excited. Both Wendy and he felt inspired as the drawings and story came together. They hope this book brings peace and comfort to anyone who reads it.
